Creative Editing with Photoshop

Learn how to use the powerful editing tools within Photoshop to add creative elements to your close up photos. Create magical photos with the techniques you will learn in this course.

Prerequisite: A basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop and using layers.

Course Content

This course includes 9 units that combine content, instructor audio and videos for 8 different Photoshop techniques and tools. It gives you the tools needed to add creative elements to your photos to make them standout. The course is full of detailed instruction and videos to make learning easy.

The content is available for a total of 60 days - so you can take your time to absorb and practice.

Full participation students will enjoy four 60 minute live video sessions via Zoom with the instructor to review and demonstrate lessons. They will also have access to submit questions and images weekly for feedback and critique.

  • Unit 1: How to use the Liquify Filters

  • Unit 2: How to use the Distort Filters

  • Unit 3: All about editing with Textures

  • Unit 4: How to use the Blur Filters

  • Unit 5: Create Dancing Flowers and use the Clone Stamp Tool

  • Unit 6: Create painterly images with the Stylize Filters

  • Unit 7: Match Color from your favorite art work into your photos

  • Unit 8: Learn how to make Creative Overlays

  • Unit 9: Putting it all together

Required Gear

What materials are needed for the course?

  • Adobe Photoshop Software ( 2019 or 2020 version)

  • A group of new or old photos that you can practice the editing techniques with.

Lori Lankford is photographer specializing in macro, flower and landscape photography. Her passion for photography began as a way to capture her personal travel adventures. Over the years she dived into the fine details of macro and flower photography. She loves to escape so deeply into the details of a tiny object.
Lori spends her free time in local gardens across the country shooting in the natural light and capturing its beauty.
Lori’s work has been exhibited in local and national gallery exhibits as well as in printed calendars and catalogs. She has a love for teaching and sharing her passion for nature and leads workshops in the Virginia/DC area.
