Learn to use the iPhone camera that’s always with you and go beyond taking a simple snapshot to creating a photograph that’s an artistic expression unique to your vision. Instructor: Michael Koren

Tap into your creative side with iPhone photography with instructor Michael Koren.

We’ll start with the basics of learning to use iPhone’s camera and review the settings for optimal image capture as well as pro tips and techniques of exposure, composition and focus that produce the best results.

The number of photo apps available seems almost unlimited and can be very confusing when trying to choose what to purchase. Michael will cover some of the most exciting apps for image capture and editing used by iPhone photographers worldwide so you can achieve your artistic vision.

Course Content

This course includes 3 one-hour live Zoom sessions to cover the material, for asking questions, and troubleshooting.

Full participation students may submit up to 2 separate images per week to be reviewed on the weekly Zoom session by the instructor.

Before and After editing images to serve as inspiration to what’s possible with editing apps.
Introduction to iPhone camera and editing basics.
Introduction and demonstration of Touch Retouch app and Snapseed basics.
Snapseed editing advanced features. Introduction and demonstration of Artista Oil app.

Instructor Michael Koren

Michael Koren is a free-lance sports and event photographer in the Washington/Baltimore metro area specializing in youth sports game-time action and team portraits. Prior to this Michael worked professionally shooting model portfolios, corporate portraits, product photography for catalogs, and client advertising campaigns.

Michael’s passion for photography is shared through his skill as a photography educator. He teaches classes at Montgomery College on a variety of photographic topics from mobile photography to street photography.

Additionally, he has served as President and Education Chair of the Silver Spring Camera Club in Maryland. He has led numerous seminars and workshops for the Camera Club, Ritz Camera, Calumet, and others with topics ranging from beginner photography to hands-on advanced level classes.
